General rules / normas de convivencia

This was formulated in August 2023 in one of the weekly assemblies, and it can be changed in another assembly, but we trust it reflects the spirit of the project (Spanish translation below).

Estas normas de convivencia fueron decididos en una asamblea en Agosto 2023, y se las pueden cambiar en otra asamblea, pero confiamos que reflejan el espíritu del proyecto (traducción española abajo).

WELCOME TO THE FOUNDRY

-Please, in the first 3 days of your stay, find out who takes care of the finances, become a member (pay 20€/year and fill in the form on the website) and pay for your room. We don’t like to chase people.

ASSEMBLIES
-There are assemblies in which problems are solved and decisions are made; when and how often they are held depends on the people in the house, but they are usually weekly. There is also a WhatsApp group with people living in the house, and a blackboard for organization.

WORK ORGANIZATION

-The Foundry is a self-organized space without boss, manager or paid staff. If you don’t clean your sheets, empty the trash bin, unclog the shower or change the broken light bulb, someone else has to do it.

-Cleaning products can be found under the sink and at the cleaning station at each floor; if something runs out, chances are you’ll find it in the storage under the stairs.

-There are always things to do (construction, gardening, etc). If you want to help, talk to a volunteer, or look at the board in the kitchen (work is usually coordinated there).

FOOD

-Everyone over 12 years old pays between 20 and 30 € per week (you decide how much you can afford) or 5€ per day for basic groceries. It is not obligatory, but if you don’t participate you can’t use the things in the kitchen (oil, salt, sugar, etc.).

-Basic groceries include oil, vinegar, coffee, tea, cheese, bread, eggs, milk, pasta, vegetables, fruits, spices, meat, cheap beer.

-Common food is kept in the kitchen. If you finish something or if something is missing, write it down on the blackboard.

-Each room has a basket for food storage in the private refrigerator near the laundry room.

-We usually eat dinner together. If you want to cook, you can write it on the blackboard.

CLEANING

-Each person is responsible for washing their own bed sheets and personal laundry (see the paper in the laundry room for more information).

-If you stain or mess something, clean it up and leave it as you found it as soon as possible; you are not the only one who lives here.

-In the assembly we distribute the tasks for cleaning the common areas.

-Trash is recycled: organic (compost), plastics/metal, paper/cardboard and glass.

-Anyone who sees the trashbin is full can take the bag outside and put a new bag in. Full bags go into the garbage container on the street.

CAR
-If you need the car, ask others if they need it.

-To use the car, you must leave 0,25€/Km in the car and write down in the notebook: name, date, Km start and Km end. If fuel is needed, you can pay for it with the money in the car.

-If the car is used for the association, the association pays, but write it down and collect the money to put it in the car anyway (groceries is not a matter of the association).

-If there is money left in the car, it goes to the cash box (to pay for insurance, repairs, etc).

-The car is only insured when driven by someone of 25 years or older with a valid license.

Normas de convivencia

• Por favor, en los 3 primeros días de estancia averigua quién lleva la caja, hazte soci@ (paga 20€/año y rellena el formulario en la pagina web) y paga tu habitación. No nos gusta perseguir a la gente.

ASAMBLEAS

• Hay asambleas en las que se solucionan problemas y se toman decisiones; su celebración depende de las personas personas en la casa, pero suele ser semanal. También hay un grupo de WhatsApp con la gente que vive en la casa, y una pizarra para organización.

TRABAJO COMUNITARIO

• The Foundry es un espacio autoorganizado, sin jefe, gerente o personal pagado. Si tu no limpias tus sabanas, vacias la basura, desatascas la ducha o cambias la bombilla rota, otra persona tiene que hacerlo.
• Los productos de limpieza se encuentra debajo del fregadero y en la estación de limpieza de cada planta; si se acaba algo, a lo mejor lo encontrarás en el almacén bajo las escaleras.
• Siempre hay cosas por hacer (construcción, huerta, etc). Si quieres ayudar, habla con un voluntario, o mira la pizarra en la cocina (se suele coordinar el trabajo alli).

COMIDAS

• Cada persona a partir de los 12 años paga entre 20 y 30€ por semana (tú decides cuánto puedes gastar) o 5€/día para la compra básica. No es obligatorio, pero si no participas no puedes usar las cosas de la cocina (aceite, sal, azúcar, etc.).
• La compra básica incluye aceite, vinagre, café, te, queso, pan, huevos, leche, pasta, verduras, frutas, carne, especias, cerveza económica.
• La comida común se guarda en la cocina. Si acabas algo o si algo falta, apuntalo en la pizarra.
• Cada habitación tiene una cesta para guardar comida en la nevera privada, cerca de la lavandería.
• Es habitual cenar juntos. Si quieres cocinar, lo puedes apuntar en la pizarra.

LIMPIEZA

• Cada persona es responsable de lavar su ropa de cama y personal (véase la hoja en la lavandería por mas información).
• Si manchas o desordenas algo, límpialo y déjalo como lo encontraste lo antes posible; no sólo vives aquí tú.
• En la asamblea se distribuyen las tareas de limpieza de las zonas comunes.
• Se recicla basura: orgánica (compost), plásticos/metal, papel/cartón y vidrio.
• Todo aquel que vea una basura llena, que la cierre, saque al exterior y ponga una bolsa de plástico nueva en el cubo. También puedes depositar sacos llenos en los contenedores de basura en la calle.

COCHE

• Si necesitas el coche, pregunta a los demás si les hace falta.
• Para usar el coche, debes dejar 0,25€/Km en el coche y anotar en el cuaderno: nombre, fecha, los Km inicio y Km fin. Si hace falta combustible, se lo puede pagar con el dinero que está en el coche.
• Si se usa el coche para la asociación, la asociación paga, pero anotalo y recoge el dinero para ponerlo en el coche igual (la compra no es cosa de la asociación).
• Si sobra dinero en el coche, va para la caja (para pagar seguro, ITV, etc).
• El coche sólo está asegurado cuando lo conduce una persona de 25 años o más con carné en vigor.
